Simon Cowell will be awarded the 24th Music Industry Trusts Award.
The 55-year-old music mogul - who owns record company Syco, manages One Direction and is a recognised global TV icon - will be honoured for his outstanding contribution to the music and entertainment industry and many charitable causes.
David Munns OBE, chairman of the MITS Award committee, said: "We are delighted to honour Simon Cowell with the Music Industry Trusts Award for 2015. We are proud to recognise his outstanding contributions to the UK music and entertainment industries and his personal support of many charitable causes.
"The creativity and excitement of 'The X Factor' and 'Britain's Got Talent', for example, have left an indelible impression on our contemporary culture whilst his record label Syco has proven itself a world leader in the development and success of inspiring, talented artists. Simon Cowell is a well deserving honouree."
Other honourees include Sir Elton John, Sir Michael Parkinson CBE, Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber, Sir Tom Jones, Kylie Minogue OBE, and Jools Holland.
The award will be presented on Monday 2 November at a gala ceremony in aid of music therapy charity Nordoff Robbins and the BRIT Trust.

Royal Blood sing their own songs at karaoke.
The rock duo, comprised of Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher, have revealed tracks from their eponymous debut album are now available at their local karaoke joint, and they love to sing along to the tracks even though the lyrics are always incorrect.
Mike revealed: "We've got Royal Blood songs on the local karaoke in Brighton now as well, and they have the lyrics wrong though. Which makes it even more fun."
When asked whether they actually sing their own songs, he added: "Yes. It's the first thing I do. I get the mic off, it's my go."
The 'Little Monster' rockers were scheduled to support Foo Fighters at Wembley Stadium in London during two dates this week, and while they confessed they are disappointed the shows have been cancelled after frontman Dave Grohl broke his leg, they commended him for carrying on his performance after suffering the painful injury in Sweden last week.
Speaking to Nick Grimshaw on BBC Radio 1, they said: "We were going to play a gig tomorrow with the Foo Fighters, but I'm sure as everyone who was going is aware, we're not any more. Dave hurt his leg.
"It's completely understandable [that they cancelled the shows]. He's someone I think who wants to do things properly and it's totally fair enough. He finished the show, I think it was Gothenburg when he fell off [the stage], and he like went off stage for like 15 minutes, came back on and finished the show while being put in a cast, so he's definitely committed to things like that.
"I would have definitely cried as well. I wouldn't have been able to keep going. I would have tried, then I would have burst into tears halfway through a song."

Jessie J is writing new music.
The 'Bang Bang' hitmaker - who is currently on holiday in Lisbon, Portugal with her beau, Luke James - revealed she has been writing lyrics in her "mind" and is excited to find a tune to accompany the words.
She wrote on Twitter: "I have been writing lyrics in my mind all day. Can't wait to find out what the melody to go with them will be... (sic)"
The 27-year-old pop star's hint at new material comes during the European leg of her tour, in support of her third LP, 'Sweet Talker'.
However, she recently teased she would be taking "a step back" from her music to "concentrate" on starting a family with her boyfriend, who she started dating last autumn.
She previously said: "There is going to come a time when I will take a step back from music to concentrate on other things. Do I want children? Of course I do. I don't know how many I want to have but whatever God decides to bless me with, I will give my all to."
Meanwhile, the 'Price Tag' singer has been busy with more music in recent months, after her single 'Flashlight' featured in 'Pitch Perfect 2', and she co-wrote 'Sorry to Interrupt' with British boyband Rixton.

Radiohead "took a lot of time" to make progress on their new album.
The 'Karma Police' hitmakers are currently in the studio "in periods" working on their ninth album - the follow-up to 2011's 'King of Limbs' - and guitarist Jonny Greenwood admits they were apart for so long, it took a while to settle back into working together.
Speaking to Dutch website 3voor12, he said: "We didn't do anything together for too long, so restarting took a lot of time.
"We're working in periods now. This afternoon, Thom [Yorke] and I will work on a song we started yesterday, see what it will lead to."
Though he didn't share much information about the new record, Jonny revealed the group have been re-visiting 1996 track 'Lift', in keeping with their tradition of including a "very old" song on each album.
He explained: "What people don't know is that there's a very old song on each album, like 'Nude' on 'In Rainbows'. We never found the right arrangement for that, until then. 'Lift' is just like that. When the idea is right, it stays right. It doesn't really matter in which form."
Jonny previously revealed the 'Paranoid Android' rockers have "change their method" and were experimenting with different things in recording.
He said: "We've certainly changed our method again. It's too involved [to explain how].
"We're kind of limiting ourselves; working in limits. So we'll see what happens. It's like we're trying to use very old and very new technology together to see what happens."

Little Mix want to star in a movie.
The four-piece band comprised of Jesy Nelson, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall have revealed they dream of following in the footsteps of fellow British girl group Spice Girls, who released 'Spice World' in 1997, by starring in a film of their own.
On the production, Jesy said: "Not just any film, it has to be like the Spice Girls movie and we actually act in it."
The 'Black Magic' singers - who shot to fame by winning 'The X Factor' in 2011 - made the comment at the launch of their first fragrance, Gold Magic, which will reach shops on June 24.
During a Q&A at the event in London, the group - who are expected to put out their third studio album later this year - confessed releasing a scent has been on their bucket list ever since they appeared on the ITV singing competition four years ago.
Jade explained: "When we first got put together on 'The X Factor', we made a list of what we wanted to achieve as a girl band.
"We wanted dolls, we wanted perfume, and four years later, it has finally happened."

Guns N' Roses have teased a new LP and tour for 2016.
Guitarist Richard Fortus revealed the rockers are planning to release the follow-up to 2008's 'Chinese Democracy' next year, and hope to head back out on the road to support the record.
He told Stormbringer magazine: "We're going to be doing stuff next year. We're not going to have anything out this year. Next year it should be out and we'll be touring."
The news comes after Richard's fellow Guns N' Roses guitarist DJ Ashba said the band were going to continue working through possible tracks for an LP before performing a "huge tour".
He explained: "We were talking about doing another huge tour. Our main focus right now is putting together the next Guns record. We've got tons of material - it's just a matter of sitting down and sifting through all the pieces. It looks like we're going to be doing a lot more touring."
The band - fronted by Axl Rose and also featuring Dizzy Reed, Tommy Stinson, Chris Pitman, Frank Ferrer and Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal with its current line-up - toured relentlessly in 2013 and 2014 but have been working on new music ever since.
Last July, Dizzy said the 'Sweet Child O' Mine' hitmakers' seventh studio record was "close to being done", and said it was "just a matter of picking out which songs will be on it."

Alice Cooper thinks One Direction are "pretty good".
The 67-year-old rocker - whose real name is Vincent Damon Furnier - has revealed he's become good friends with Harry Styles and is fan of the music he makes with bandmates Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson.
Speaking at the Kerrang! Awards, he said: "You listen to their records and they actually make stuff that's pretty good - not just the same old."
The 'Poison' hitmaker also revealed how he became pals with Harry, 21, after being introduced by their mutual friend, 'Pirates of the Caribbean' actor Johnny Depp, at his Los Angeles home.
He told The Sun newspaper: "I met Harry through Johnny. They're friends. Johnny's house in LA is where everyone congregates. We hung out there."
Meanwhile, Alice - who legally changed his name to that of the band for which he was frontman in the 70s before launching a solo career - recently announced his new album 'Hollywood Vampires' featuring Sir Paul McCartney, Dave Grohl and Depp is "done, mixed and ready to go".
He said previously: "The album's done. It's mixed, ready to go and I'm very, very happy with it. I'm really happy with all the stuff on it. McCartney's on it. [Ringo Starr's drummer son] Zak Starkey's on it. Dave Grohl is on it, [AC/DC frontman] Brian Johnson, and in places where you wouldn't expect them to be, that's the cool thing."

Florence + the Machine have replaced Foo Fighters as Friday's (26.06.15) Glastonbury headliner.
The band were forced to pull out of their scheduled performance after frontman Dave Grohl broke his leg falling from a stage in Sweden last week, but the 'Ship to Wreck' hitmakers have now stepped in to take the prestigious slot.
Festival organiser Emily Eavis said: "Once we heard the sad news that Foo Fighters had been forced to pull out, there was only one person we wanted to call and that was Florence. Every time she has played here she's done something spectacular and we always knew she would headline the Pyramid one day. I'm delighted she's agreed to step up to it - she's going to smash it!"
The replacement act - who were scheduled to perform in the slot before the 'My Hero' rockers - will perform tracks from their first two LPs, as well as new album 'How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful' which was released earlier this month.
The group, fronted by Florence Welch - who fractured her foot earlier this year by leaping off a stage - previously said it would be "wonderful" to headline the iconic British festival, but admitted the prospect would be worrying.
She said: "I think I'm quite happy with where we are.
"It would be wonderful to headline, but also I don't know how I'd be dealing with that right now.
"I'm not really planning what's going to happen at Glastonbury, because I just don't know. It's almost quite hard for me to remember gigs sometimes, because I just don't know what happens. It's almost as if something else completely takes over. So if I'm back in fully charged feet mode, I'm nervous for what's going to happen. It's this sense that anything could happen."

Jimmy Page doesn't miss Led Zeppelin.
The 72-year-old guitarist insists he hasn't been "missing" his former group - fronted by Robert Plant - over the last few years as he has been so busy working on the live album and DVD 'Celebration Day' - which featured the recording of the band's last live show in 2007 at The O2 for the Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert - and the acclaimed reissues of their back catalogue.
Speaking at a press conference to mark the release of the final three LPs at Olympic Studios in London, he said: "I haven't been missing it for the last three years because I've been involved from 'Celebration Day' all the way through to this. So no, it's OK, it's fine."
For each album reissue Page trawled though the vaults and went in search of previously unreleased or unheard material and alternative recordings of songs to create companion discs to each original LP.
The rock legend knows he has found all the extra music he could and thinks he's "done" his "job" for the fans.
He said: "As far as the studio side of things (goes), this is it. Unless something might pop up on international Record Store Day or something like that. But it will be a long way off.
"There were hundreds of hours of listening to set all of this up. I'm really thrilled because what it means for Led Zeppelin fans is that there's now twice as much information as there was before, and it's of really good quality. So as far as I'm concerned, I've done my job.
"Looking at the whole bootleg scene and knowing how much live material had already come out, and pretty good stuff at that, dealing with the studio outtakes seemed to be a more satisfying project ... This is what needed to be done - the whole Led Zeppelin world in the studio needed to be dealt with properly and seriously."
As for Page's musical future he is still getting his guitar playing up to speed for a series of proposed concerts and he wants to continue making music.
He explained: "I'll be working on the guitar now, that's the next thing to be obsessive about. It's clear what I'm going to be doing next; I want to do something, which involves being seen to play the guitar. It goes without saying that I would like to be doing a guitar project - I mean, better doing that than a violin project!"
The last three Led Zeppelin reissues, 'Presence', 'In Through the Out Door' and 'Coda' will be available from July 31.
