Mrs Brown to battle Alexa in Christmas special

The ‘Mrs Brown’s Boys’ Christmas special could see Agnes Brown battling Alexa.
The hugely popular sitcom’s writer and star Brendan O’Carroll, 53, has already started pondering over this year’s festive episode, and it could feature a big part for Amazon’s home assistant.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, he said: "I’m toying with one idea. The family buy Agnes an Alexa for Christmas and it drives her f**kin’ nuts.
"She has rows and there is a big falling out. She just doesn’t get along with that f**kin’ Alexa woman at all."
Brendan will soon put his focus on the Christmas special after the second run of his BBC talk show ‘All Round To Mrs Brown’s’ came to an end on Saturday evening (23.06.18) – with a third series commissioned for 2019.
However, it could be a little while until he actually puts pen to paper, after enjoying a sunny holiday and then work on ‘Mrs Brown: The Musical’.
He recently said: "I won’t write this year’s Christmas specials of Mrs Brown’s Boys until closer to September.
"I’m having a break in Florida, then I’m writing ‘Mrs Brown: The Musical’, which goes on tour next March."
Last month, it was reported that Brendan has also started working on a new BBC sitcom called ‘The Lebanese Outpost’, which will focus on Irish peacekeeping troops patrolling the border between Lebanon and Israel.
An insider previously said: "The BBC is excited about the new show. ‘Mrs Brown’s Boys’ has been a huge success and now bosses want him to create a new show that can run and run.
"The idea of setting a comedy in a war zone is interesting but as ‘Blackadder Goes Forth’ and ‘It Ain’t Half Hot Mum’ showed, it can be done with great success."
