Mr Motivator returning to TV

Mr. Motivator is returning to TV.
The 66-year-old fitness guru – whose real name is Derrick Evans – is filming a special for the BBC but hopes he can find a new slot on morning television in order to spread positivity.
The star – who found fame on ‘GM:TV’ from 1993 to 2000 and made a three-week return in 2009 – said: "On morning television, I believe that there’s a role for me even more.
"Even if it’s only to say, ‘Your parents grew up doing what I was doing and listening to what I was saying on breakfast TV. You now must do the same because there’s some positive messages that will resonate with you for your future.
"My message is even more important now."
Mr. Motivator admitted he finds the current crop of daytime shows too much because of the "shouting and screaming blatantly pushed in your face."
Asked whether he had noticed a change in tone since his time on screen, he told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Of course — watching people making a fool of themselves or being obnoxious to each other.
"Where is feelgood television?"
"There’s a role for that kind of attitude on TV rather than what we see every single day, which is the shouting and the screaming blatantly pushed in front of your face. A quality needs to return.
"All too often, what we get is all the nasty stuff, all the bad stuff.
"We laugh at the nasty stuff — we laugh at people having problems rather than saying, ‘Let me listen to how they cope. Let me see what they have to do to change their life’.
"Feelgood TV needs to come back. We need to highlight people who make us feel good."
In the summer, Mr. Motivator will be appearing at a number of UK festivals and can’t wait to take to the stage.
He said: "It’s about having some fun with some great music, behaving like a child and losing your inhibitions.
"The turnout is always great – it’s been bursting at the seams.
"I love playing festivals because you’re really close to the audience, the participation is incredible and you have such a laugh."
