Mollie King has put her music career "on hold" in order to focus on TV and radio.
The Saturdays singer was given a taste of the small screen life last year when she competed on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ and now she’d like to explore it full time by jumping on the airwaves for a new radio show with DJ Matt Edmondson.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, the 30-year-old singer said: "At the moment I’m doing a lot of TV and radio. So I’m putting the music on hold for a minute, but there’s lots of exciting things coming.
"It’s [a new project] on radio One and starts at the weekend, so yeah, I can’t wait for that. It’s going to be really good. I’ve got Matt with me, I’ve got the best person to possibly be going in with. I am nervous, of course, but I can’t wait to get started."
Her new project comes just months after she was left devastated when she found out that she’d been snubbed from the ‘Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour’.
Professional dancer AJ Pritchard – who was partnered with the blonde beauty for the main show – said last year: "I’m going to be on the tour, but Mollie isn’t unfortunately. I believe I’m just going to be doing some dancing with my professional partner Chloe. ‘I’m really excited to be travelling the country, and performing in these fantastic areas."
And AJ was heartbroken that he will no longer get to dance with the pop star because he thoroughly enjoyed working with her – but their relationship was purely platonic.
He said: "We will be friends for life, 100 per cent. She has been an amazing partner. We have so much fun in the training room, we don’t ever want that to end. I’ll definitely be heartbroken at the end of this because it’s such a fantastic year and it’s all going so well. I wouldn’t change a thing. We feel the same way and you’ll see that this week because she gives me a very heartfelt gift. It is something I will cherish."
