Mollie King: I’ve learnt so much recording my solo LP

Mollie King has "learnt so much" from recording her debut solo album.
The 29-year-old singer-and-model is set to follow in footsteps of her The Saturdays bandmate Vanessa White when she releases her own LP later this year. And Mollie – who is joined by Frankie Bridge, Una Healy and Rochelle Humes in the girl group – has been enjoying learning more about the technical side of producing a record and perfecting songwriting.
Talking about the LP – which is to receive a release date or album title – she told Entertainment News: "I’ve had time to really get into the studio and learn so much about songwriting and production and everything. It has been so exciting and great to learn so much and to have it there in a record now."
Earlier this year, Mollie teased that fans can expect her first outing as a solo artist to still have a "pop" feel, but it will be different to anything she’s done with the ‘All Fired Up’ hitmakers.
She said: "It’s a pop record, but it’s done slightly different to The Saturdays. You will have to watch this space."
And on when to expect the album, she added: "It will be coming out later this year. I’m so excited for it. I’ve been putting it together for over a year now and it will be coming out in the next few months."
The blonde beauty – who ended her on/off relationship with model David Gandy earlier this year – has also teased that plans for The Saturdays to return and hinted that there are "exciting" things in the pipeline.
Quizzed on whether they’ll make a comeback this year, she said: "At the moment we are on a little break, but of course we will be coming together to do something. It’s exciting times ahead with the girls."
