Mollie King feels ‘very vulnerable’ as a solo artist

Mollie King feels "very vulnerable" as a solo artist.
The Saturdays singer is currently putting the finishing touches to her debut album and has admitted she’s missed having the support of her bandmates, Frankie Bridge, Una Healy Vanessa White and Rochelle Humes, as she’s been worrying about laying her heart on her sleeve for her "personal" first record.
In an interview with FAULT magazine, she said: "Everything from shooting the videos to photoshoots, I’m just used to having four other girls with me.
"It’s a new experience and I do feel very vulnerable up there on my own, especially when I’m writing the songs about personal experiences and putting it out there to the world."
The 29-year-old beauty – who ended her on/off relationship with model David Gandy earlier this year – has revealed that despite her nerves she is in love with the lead single and is confident as the ‘All Fired Up’ hitmakers have listened to it and "loved it".
She said: "Obviously I’ve got nerves about it coming out as well but all I can do is believe in the project and I do adore my debut track and I love the video. I played the song to the other Saturdays girls and they all really loved it and that means the world to me."
Meanwhile, the pop star has teased that the album is nothing like The Saturdays "stylistically" and that the lead single will be released soon.
She said: "We’re just on the cusp of everything releasing and I’m so excited. I’ve been putting it together for a good year and a half and I’ve just shot the video so everything will be revealed in the next couple of weeks!
"It’s really exciting and going to be very different to what people are expecting, so everyone will be very surprised.
"It’s definitely still a pop record. In a band, it’s so difficult to make the music go down the lane you want it to, but this is actually the kind of music that I love and it’s very personal throughout. You’ll be able to tell straight away from the first single that stylistically, it’s worlds apart from The Saturdays."
Mollie’s solo album is expected to drop next year.
