Miranda Lambert’s ‘vulnerable’ song

Miranda Lambert says it took a lot of confidence to get "vulnerable" on her new song.
The 32-year-old star recently released ‘Vice’, her first song since her divorce from Blake Shelton and admits she is "nervous" about what people will think about the track.
She said: "I’ve been hunkered down for a year writing, recording, trying to live a normal life and getting ready for a new album. Now that I’m coming with a song, it does make me nervous, and I hope that people are respectful of it and understand what I’ve been doing.
"It takes a lot of confidence and strength to be willing to be vulnerable. Songwriting is about taking a journey with what’s been going on in my everyday life – good, bad, ugly and everything in between."
However, Miranda is just trying to ignore those who "twist" her words in her new song as she knows she has nothing to hide.
Describing the song, she added to Billboard: "Everybody has a vice. Everybody goes through a time in their life when they run to it a little bit more than when they don’t.
"When I’m journaling my life and putting it on paper to a melody and then allowing people to hear it, I can’t worry about what somebody might twist it into. Because it’s not like I’m hiding anything."
Meanwhile, Miranda previously revealed how music helped her cope with the split.
She wrote on Instagram: "The last year of my life has been one of heartache and healing, … Of learning to be honest …. Accepting the flaws and celebrating the smiles. Finding peace in dark places … having some moments alone with me. Facing fears and feelings… All of them.
"I got to know my guitars…became friends with a pencil and paper … Used melodies to lead me places I had never been…. Made music with my friends. Because music is medicine. This means the world to me. Thank you for joining me on this journey. #vice #musicismedicine (sic)."
