Mike Hassini hasn’t touched alcohol for "six months."
‘The Only Way is Essex’ star was axed from the ITVBe show last year after he was found guilty of drink-driving and, although he’s now been allowed to return to the programme, he’s adamant he’ll never go back to the party boy lifestyle he’s had in the past and is determined to stay away from the booze bottle for a while.
Speaking to the Sun newspaper, Mike said: "I haven’t had a drink for the last six months. I’m not saying I won’t ever drink again but I will never go back to being a party boy, going out five times a week. It did me no good."
The 22-year-old hunk was banned from driving for 21 months in December after he pleaded guilty to having cocaine in his possession and being over the alcohol limit when he crashed his Mercedes in London’s Oxford Street following the show’s end-of-series wrap party in the early hours of August 15, 2016.
He was slapped with a £170 fine and ordered to do 180 hours of unpaid work after he admitted possessing a "small wrap" of the Class A drug as well as being intoxicated when the incident took place.
And it’s not just Mike who has made a return to screens, as his co-star James "Arg" Argent is also set to make a comeback to the show after a stint in rehab for drug and alcohol issues.
Mike said: "He’s had a similar experience. We are both not drinking and it is much easier when you have someone to do it with."
Following his experiences as a "party boy" and the consequences he faced, Mike has warned cast member Dan Edgar to be careful about how much booze he’s putting away.
He said: "He has been partying a lot and seeing a lot of girls. He smashed it up in Ibiza, out until eight in the morning."
