Michelle Keegan wants to play Duchess Catherine in a movie.
The 28-year-old actress’ dream role would be to portray the royal – who was known as Kate Middleton before her marriage to Prince William – on screen but admits she would need to work hard to alter her Mancunian accent to be more like the duchess’ refined tones.
She said: "I’d love to play her. She’s really just a normal girl at heart – well, not any more, she gave birth to the future king.
"That film’s got to be made soon, surely?
"But I would need to get my accent sorted!"
For now, Michelle – who is married to former ‘TOWIE’ star turned presenter Mark Wright – is focused on her role in military drama ‘Our Girl’, a role she has taken over from Lacey Turner, and thinks it will show fans a different side to what they saw when she played Tina McIntyre on ‘Coronation Street’.
She told Closer magazine: "It’s such a contrast to anything I’ve done before, it’s so active. I wanted ‘Our Girl’ when Lacey Turner was in it and loved it. You’ll get to see me in a totally different light."
