Michelle Keegan will start filming for the third series of ‘Our Girl’ next month.
The 29-year-old actress is meant to be celebrating her second wedding anniversary with her husband Mark Wright in May but the pair will be forced to spend the occasion apart as she will be busy shooting the next instalment of the modern war drama.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’ on Thursday (20.04.17), Mark explained: "It’s Nepal, South Africa, I think they’re going to Malaysia. They’re going everywhere for the next few months. It is difficult [to be separated from Michelle] and obviously in drama, the drama that she does, it takes ages to shoot an episode – compared to what we do in entertainment. It’s so much long winded so that’s why she has to be there for so long."
But the couple – who tied the knot in Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk, England in front of their celebrity guests – are trying to spend as much time together before she leaves.
The 29-year-old hunk said: "We live in Essex but work takes us everywhere and when we can get little weekend breaks then we do. Home is our favourite place. We prefer that to date nights any day. Shutting the door, takeaway, pyjamas on, movie, we love it!"
Michelle joined the army drama last year as Corporal Georgie Lane after Lacey Turner – who was chosen to lead the first ever series in 2013 – turned her back on the programme as Molly Dawes in order to return to ‘EastEnders’ as Stacey Fowler.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ actress received rave reviews from viewers right from the first episode as fans fell in love with her portrayal of the bolshie army girl.
The series followed Georgie as her ex-boyfriend Special Forces Officer Elvis Harte (Luke Pasqualino) attempted to save her from being shot by the Taliban – a Sunni Islamic fundamentalist political movement – before the pair went on to prevent a terrorist attack in their home city of Manchester.
A few weeks after the series concluded, bosses confirmed that they were planning to do another instalment but refused to divulge any more details at that moment in time.
