Michelle Keegan to play Bobby Moore’s wife Tina

Michelle Keegan will play Bobby Moore’s wife in a new series about the life of the late footballer.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ actress will star alongside Lorne MacFayden in ITV’s ‘Tina & Bobby’, an adaptation of Tina Moore’s memoir about her time with the former England captain.
The three-part drama will document their relationship from their humble beginnings in Essex to becoming one of the nation’s best-loved couples after Bobby lifted the World Cup in 1966.
Kieran Roberts, executive producer for ITV studios, said: "Most people will know the story of Bobby Moore’s achievements as captain of club and country – the only Englishman to ever lift the football World Cup.
"Far fewer will know the story of his life with Tina – a love story every bit as dramatic and epic as Bobby’s exploits on the pitch. We are delighted to be dramatising Tina and Bobby’s amazing story for ITV and, in Michelle and Lorne, we think we have the perfect casting of the ‘golden’ couple and we are thrilled."
Patsy Kensit will play Tina’s mother Betty while David Bamber takes the role of England manager Sir Alf Ramsey.
Bobby and Tina had two children together, Dean and Roberta, but after the West Ham legend retired cracks began to show.
A terrifying plot to kidnap Tina and hold her to ransom was uncovered and business ventures failed. In 1984, the couple separated and divorced two years later.
Bobby died in 1993 at the age of just 51 after losing his battle against cancer.
