Michelle Keegan signs up to Brassic

Michelle Keegan has signed up to star in new Sky One comedy-drama ‘Brassic’.
The ‘Our Girl’ actress took to Instagram last night (20.08.18) to reveal she has joined the cast of the show, and is "excited" about the new chapter in her acting career.
Michelle posted a picture of the script for the first episode, and added the caption: "Here we go…onto my next adventure. @skyone #brassic #readthrough #excited (sic)"
The former ‘Coronation Street’ actress will appear alongside This is England’s Joe Gilgun in the programme, which is based on his background growing up in Lancashire market town Chorley.
Joe – who will star as Vinnie, a guy with bipolar disorder – said: "I’m truly humbled by the opportunity. We’ve got an amazing team of creators and watching it all take form has been very moving.
"Bipolar is a big part of my life. We want to show that you can have mental health issues and in some cases live a productive, exciting life, full of adventure.
"Our writer Danny Brocklehurst and my friend David Quayle have been invaluable in taking this journey with me. Embrace who you are, decide what to be and go be it."
Joe and Danny will co-exec produce the programme, which will also feature Ripper Street’s Damien Molony, alongside David Livingstone and Jon Mountague.
Danny – who worked with Michelle on BBC drama ‘Ordinary Lies’ – said: "I couldn’t be more thrilled to be making ‘Brassic’ with Sky One.
"This is a passion project for Joe and myself and we have collaborated every step of the way to create an outrageous, funny, stylistically bold show that brings to life a rarely seen northern working-class world.
"This is a big-hearted show about life at the sharp end of modern Britain."
