Michelle Hardwick has secured a new contract with ‘Emmerdale’.
The 40-year-old actress – who joined the long-running soap in 2013 – has signed a new agreement with show bosses that will keep her character Vanessa Woodfield in the village for another 12 months.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, she said: "I’ve just got another year. It feels great. It’s very exciting. And it’s a huge compliment. I’m enjoying being on the show so much and I’d like to just stay there for the foreseeable future. I’ve got no idea what’s going to happen but I’d quite like to delve into Vanessa’s past and see where her roots are. We don’t really know that much about her."
And with a new contract under her belt, bosses have promised the blonde beauty that they have plenty of juicy storylines – including a new romance – up their sleeve for Vanessa over the next year.
Meanwhile, Vanessa will certainly have a busy few months coming up as she’s recently been left as a single mother after her toyboy boyfriend Kirin Kotecha (Adam Fielding ) went on the run last month.
She’s also been forced to lend a helping hand to her friend Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) after it emerged her husband Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) had been having an affair with her son’s teacher.
