Michaela Strachan would refuse to do ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’.
The ‘Springwatch’ presenter – who is a long-time conservationist – would snub the chance to take part in the creepy-crawly show if she were approached because she couldn’t bring herself to eat the animals during the Bushtucker Trials and would rather save them.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz about the launch of a special one-off programme called ‘The Kiwi Wild Show’, the 51-year-old star said when asked if she’d do the show: "I couldn’t do that, we wouldn’t be eating the animals we’d be championing them!"
Michaela and Chris Packham – who she worked with on ‘The Really Wild Show’ – teamed up with Old Mout to create ‘The Kiwi Wild Show’ which aims to save the endangered bird.
Kiwis – which are flightless birds native to New Zealand – have seen their numbers decline by 99 per cent over the past 80 years, with just 50,000 remaining in the wild and the two conservationists jumped at the chance to help with the programme when approached by the cider brand because the efforts to save the species are really working.
And reuniting with Chris for the online show has been so much fun that the brunette beauty would like to sign up to ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ alongside the 56-year-old naturalist.
She explained: "I would like me and Chris to both go on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ on the same year and compete and that’s because I know it would be the one thing that I would be so much better than him at!"
