Michael Griffiths is hoping Joanna Chimonides will take him back.
The firefighter was booted out of the ‘Love Island’ villa during Sunday night’s (21.07.19) show and despite just recently confessing his feelings to ex Amber Gill, Michael wants to give it a go with Joanna.
He said: "Ultimately I am hoping Joanna will take me back, I am hoping that’s the case. It’s just whether Joanna will speak to me or not. I am excited to speak to her but I don’t know how, or if, she is going to speak to me."
And if Joanna didn’t want to get back with Michael, he confessed he would be "upset" as "everyone makes mistakes".
He added: "I would be upset but it’s one of those things, everyone makes mistakes. I hope that I could work towards [getting back with Joanna] but if she doesn’t want to revisit it then she doesn’t want to revisit it."
Michael has left the villa on a good note with ex Amber and wished her and Greg O’Shea well as they continue on the show.
He told The Sun Online: "We spoke before I left and basically I wished her well. We are friends and I did say that I do actually see her and Greg working as I see how much he makes her smile. Seeing that actually makes me quite happy. That’s the cherry on tip of the cake really as it made me realise that I do actually cherish Amber’s friendship. I am really happy that she is happy now … Me and Amber cleared everything up when we chatted in the lounge and I knew I was directing my frustration at her. I was thinking, ‘why am I doing this? I am just hurting a friend.’ When Amber and I cleared everything up, she kind of laughed it off. She knew me more than anyone else in the villa did. We left things on a really nice note, we are actually friends."
