Metronomy and The Horrors to support Blur at British Summer Time Hyde Park

Blur will be supported by Metronomy and The Horrors at Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park.

The electro pop and garage rock bands will play before the recently reformed four-piece ‘Parklife’ hitmakers at the central London park when they perform on June 20, with several other acts also warming up the stage.

Grunge rock duo Drenge, Congo band Jupiter & Okwess International, rapper Roots Manuva, swing trio Kitty, Daisy & Lewis, and three-piece London indie group Teleman.

Completing the line-up will be 80s inspired pop star Iris Gold, techno trio Fufanu and punk rockers Sugarmen.

The special guests – which will be spread across three stages – will all lead up to Blur’s return to the park, which will make them the only act to perform at the park five times.

The Brit pop group – featuring Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree – announced the show earlier this month at the same time as they revealed they will release their first new album as a four-piece in 16 years on April 27, ‘The Magic Whip’.

Taylor Swift, Kylie Minogue and The Who will perform separate events as part of the Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park series of shows.

Tickets to the gig went on sale at 9am this morning (27.02.15).
