Melody Thornton insists she will not have an advantage on ‘Dancing on Ice’ because she was the only Pussycat Dolls member who couldn’t dance.
The 34-year-old singer insists she cannot throw shapes as well as her fellow former band mate Ashley Roberts on the dance floor and is keen to let people know that she is "not a dancer", to ensure she isn’t accused of having an unfair upper hand on the ice skating reality show.
Speaking to BANG Showbiz and other media at the show’s launch, she said: "I actually did think I might get that [accusations of being a trained dancer], but the good thing about this show is that I’m not a dancer. I get to tell that story.
"I’m the only person from the Pussycat Dolls that was not a dancer. I was always at the back of the formation."
Ashley recently came under fire for being a trained dancer during her time on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ earlier this year, with some insisting she had an unfair advantage as a result.
And despite the blonde beauty being a former judge on ‘Dancing on Ice’, Melody – who is skating with pro Alexander Demetriou – insists her pal has been so "busy" she is yet to get any tips from her, but she is hoping to gain some advice from her friend in the new year.
She added: "I’ve picked up things without Ashley even telling me. Watching her go through ‘Strictly’, and I know she judged this show but she hasn’t actually given me any tips because she’s been busy as hell.
"I’m going to let Ashley cool off and then hopefully she will help me out."
‘Dancing on Ice’ kicks off on January 6th, 2019, at 6pm on ITV.
