Mel B’s daughter has snubbed her fashion sense

Mel B’s daughter has snubbed her fashion sense.
The 41-year-old’s daughter Phoenix, 17, – who is the daughter of Mel’s ex-husband Jimmy Gulzar – rejected the chance to wear one of her mother’s dresses to her first school prom, and opted to buy a new "conservative" looking gown online for the event instead.
Speaking about the rebuke on ‘Live With Kelly’, the Spice Girls singer – who was nicknamed Scary Spice in the iconic girl band – said: "She’s 17 so her prom is not until next year but she got asked to go to prom and I said, ‘You know what they say happens at prom? You’re only 17 so be a good girl.’
"She’s a good girl and the guy that took her to prom is a very, very sweet guy and they’re friends.
"I did say to her you should wear a nice long black evening dress. And I said go in my closet and she said, ‘Oh no I want to order my own dress online’."
"But my daughter ordered a very conservative dress which was really nice and she looked gorgeous."
And her child’s choice of ensemble left the former ‘X Factor’ judge lost for words.
The mother of three – who also has daughters Madison, four, and Angel, nine, – explained: "My daughter’s a bit of a tomboy and she doesn’t really dress up or do make up or her hair much. And then she turned into a lady and I was like ‘Who’s this?’"
Meanwhile Mel has revealed she has held on to almost every ensemble from her Spice Girls days because she was "obsessed" with the custom made outfits, which she requested to be made in three additional colours.
Speaking previously, she said: "I have everything! Because we kind of made up our own costumes as we went along.
"The more money we got, the more tailor-made our clothes got.
"I think I have probably 80 percent of all my outfits. Because when we used to get our outfits made, I used to get like two or three different copies and colours because I was obsessed with my style back then!"
