Mel B would return to ‘The X Factor’ judging panel.
The former Spice Girls singer – who was a judge on the ITV series in 2014 and has had numerous guest spots on the programme over the years – has admitted she’d jump at the chance to reclaim her seat on the talent show if big boss Simon Cowell asked her – but he hasn’t done thus far, despite speculation suggesting otherwise.
Addressing the rumours, Mel, 42, told OK! magazine: "It’s news to me, I haven’t heard that. If they asked and I had time, it’s something I’d think about."
It looks like there a lot of changes coming to ‘X Factor’ this year as it’s been claimed that bosses will only host filmed auditions in London and Liverpool.
A source said recently: "In previous years the show would always make a big deal of travelling around the country to find budding pop stars.
"But their attitude now is the right talent will come to them.
"Liverpool produced the likes of The Beatles and Echo and the Bunnymen while London is home to current talent including Rita Ora and Stormzy.
"Show producers will still be sent to the likes of Leeds and Derry to hold private auditions just as a precaution. But any talent will be expected to make their way over to London or Liverpool if they want to sing in front of the judges. This latest overhaul is also designed for practical reasons as auditions will now take place in arenas."
And while they are shaking up auditions, judge Louis Walsh has insisted he will remain on the panel because his contract is "watertight".
He said: "My contract is watertight. I’ve checked it out with someone and have told Simon that. He has asked me to come and see him in LA. I have spoken to Sharon [Osbourne]. She’s said they can only sack us if they pay us. Sharon did say she was surprised she hadn’t been given any filming dates. I don’t think they’ve finalised what they’re going to do with the panel. We have three-year contracts. We both do."
