Mel B: Stephen Belafonte is my ‘best friend’

Mel B’s husband Stephen Belafonte is her "best friend".
The Spice Girls star hopes she will be "together forever" with the 40-year-old film producer and is considering renewing their vows.
She said: "My husband is my best friend and we know each other so well that we know what we are getting. But there are always rumours we are splitting up. We were at a friend’s bar mitzvah which Mariah Carey was hosting the other day, and two people were like, ‘Are you guys still together?’ We will be together forever.
"I’ve already had one failed marriage so I definitely don’t want to have another one. Stephen is a bit crazy, but then I am a bit crazy so it kind of evens itself out. Actually, we are talking about renewing our vows."
But the 40-year-old singer – who has four-year-old daughter Madison with Stephen, 17-year-old Phoenix with her ex-husband Jimmy Gulzar and Angel, nine, with Eddie Murphy – admits it can be a "constant juggling act" to balance her career and family life.
She added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "It’s a balance and a constant juggling act. We are both very busy and sometimes it’s hard to see one another. Obviously looking after the kids is our priority and it can be hard to find time together, without them.
"But Stephen can be quite romantic. He sent me flowers at work recently with a really sweet message because he knew I was knackered, doing 12-hour days, 10 days straight. We are both pretty thoughtful, though, and I feel very happy."
Meanwhile, Mel previously revealed her "most important job" is being a mother.
She shared: "[They get on] really well. They all love each other although they’re quite different. We do things as a family all the time. I’m a mum and that’s my most important job … Like any other working mum, I take them with me sometimes. Home is where the kids are. It doesn’t really matter where you live in the world, does it? You make it what you want it to be. They think I’m a mum with an exciting job."
