Mel B is strong enough to raise her children alone.
The 42-year-old pop star – who split from her second husband, film producer Stephen Belafonte, earlier this year – has written an empowering message about single parenthood on her Instagram account, insisting she’s strong enough to support her three children on her own.
Mel – who has an 18-year-old daughter called Phoenix with her ex-husband Jimmy Gulzar, as well as Angel, 10, with comedian Eddie Murphy and Madison, six, with Stephen – wrote on Instagram: "Talking with my 18 year old daughter today and I told her I learned the hard way in life that and that cannot always count on others to respect my feelings even if I respect theirs, being a good person doesn’t guarantee that others will be good people too,you only have control over yourself and how you choose to be as a person,as for others well you can choose to either accept them or walk away, even if your left all alone with no one it doesn’t really mean your alone,NO,it just means your strong enough to handle things all by yourself BOOM she replied hell yeh mummy that’s why I love you, then I cried!
"I love my 3 daughters they are my everything my heart my soul my world. #singleparentworkinghard #keepwalkingforward #womenempoweringwomen (sic)"
Meanwhile, Mel recently revealed her father Martin’s death gave her the "clarity and strength" to get her life "on the right track".
The former Spice Girl suggested her father’s passing played a crucial role in her decision to divorce Stephen earlier this year.
In an emotional post on Instagram, she wrote: "The pain of loosing my daddy is beyond anyone could ever understand, but in the mist of all my raw emotions and pain of his passing he gave me the clarity and strength to set my life on the right track. And I’m sooo thankful of this awakening from march 4th when he died I now live in my truth to correct with no shame the life every girl/daddy’s girl should live, and that’s a life with no fear or disrespect. But a life with ONLY love and respect and honesty. (sic)"
