Mel B claims she was drugged during her marriage to Stephen Belafonte

Mel B has claimed she was drugged for most of her 10-year marriage to Stephen Belafonte.
The 42-year-old singer is embroiled in a bitter divorce battle with her estranged husband – who she has previously claimed was physically abusive towards her and had an affair with their nanny – and now it’s reported the former Spice Girls member was allegedly drugged during their 10-year marriage.
One of Stephen’s lawyers, Philip Cohen said: "Miss Brown now takes the position she was drugged by Mr Belafonte throughout the course of the marriage."
Stephen, also 42, has claimed that Mel led an "extravagant" lifestyle and had "wiped out" a $50m fortune she got during her time as a Spice Girl.
The couple married in Las Vegas in 2007 and Mel – who has six-year-old daughter Madison with Stephen, as well as 18-year-old Phoenix and 10-year-old Angel from previous relationships – filed for divorce in March citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split, and later accusing her former spouse of domestic abuse.
Meanwhile, Mel recently revealed her father Martin’s death gave her the "clarity and strength" to get her life "on the right track".
The former Spice Girl suggested her father’s passing played a crucial role in her decision to divorce Stephen earlier this year.
In an emotional post on Instagram, she wrote: "The pain of loosing my daddy is beyond anyone could ever understand, but in the mist of all my raw emotions and pain of his passing he gave me the clarity and strength to set my life on the right track.
"And I’m sooo thankful of this awakening from march 4th when he died I now live in my truth to correct with no shame the life every girl/daddy’s girl should live, and that’s a life with no fear or disrespect. But a life with ONLY love and respect and honesty. (sic)"
