Meghan Markle gets into festive spirit at Queen’s Christmas lunch

Meghan Markle pulled crackers and shared jokes with Prince Charles at the Queen’s annual Christmas lunch on Wednesday (20.12.17).
The royal family were reportedly determined to make the meal seem as normal as possible for the 36-year-old actress, as the brunette beauty was feeling "nervous" about being introduced to her fiancé Prince Harry’s relatives at Buckingham Palace.
However, the former ‘Suits’ star, who is set to marry the 33-year-old prince in May next year, was made to feel comfortable and the guests, including several members of the wider royal family, thought she was "delightful".
An insider told the Daily Mail newspaper: "Everyone wanted to meet Meghan and welcome her to the family and she didn’t disappoint.
"She was obviously a bit nervous at first but she soon relaxed with Prince Harry’s help as he introduced her to everyone and then she really enjoyed it.
"Harry was clearly very happy and very proud of her and everyone thought she was delightful. It was your typical Christmas lunch in spite of who was there – turkey, crackers … the lot. "
Meanwhile, Meghan has agreed to celebrate the festive season with the royal family at Sandringham House in Norfolk, England.
Kensington Palace confirmed the couple will also enjoy the festivities with Harry’s brother William, Catherine and George and Charlotte.
The loved-up couple are expected to attend the traditional morning service at St Mary Magdalene Church on December 25.
Meghan will probably be among the select few of the royal family to speak with the public before and after the service and receive bouquets of flowers.
The Royals will then return to Sandringham House for a lavish Christmas lunch before watching the Queen give her famous speech to the nation in the afternoon.
But there will be no exchanging of gifts that day as the family swap presents on Christmas Eve (24.12.17) – keeping in with German tradition.
Meghan will become the first royal fiancée to spend Christmas with Queen Elizabeth as it is said that usually the royal family only accept married couples to join them for Christmas, but they are making an exception this year for Harry and his partner.
The pair, who will tie the knot in May 2018, will then jet back to the States to ring in the New Year with Meghan’s family.
