Megan McKenna has officially quit ‘The Only Way is Essex’.
The 25-year-old reality TV star has had somewhat of a turbulent year as she’s seen herself shoot into the iTunes Download Chart with her debut single ‘High Heeled Shoes’ and split from her on/off boyfriend Pete Wicks, but the brunette beauty has decided to make a drastic change in her life as she’s agreed to walk away from the ITVBe series.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz at the Pride of Britain Awards, held in London, on Monday (30.10.17), she said: "I have left’ TOWIE’. At the moment I’m trying to do my tour, I’m in the studio, I’m recording and it’s amazing, I feel like I wanted to juggle both but it got to the point where I have too much to do for my music and that’s my dream/"
Megan saw her country music career catapult when her three-part series ‘There’s Something About Megan’, which saw her travel to Nashville to write songs and perform in some of the city’s famous bars, dropped in September – but she never expected that.
She explained: "I never expected such a good reaction. Never in a million years.
"I’m just so happy people love to listen to my music especially the stuff that I wrote myself, that’s the most amazing thing!"
The ‘Far Cry From Love’ singer is set to perform a number of dates around the UK in December but she’s hoping that she’ll eventually travel around the world for gigs.
She said: "I’m hoping to have a worldwide tour, that’s what I wanna be doing, I’m wanna be touring the world, meeting everybody, writing more music and everybody listening to my stories because I have A LOT of stories!"
