Megan McKenna: Full Monty helped with insecurities

Megan McKenna’s stint on ‘The Real Full Monty: Ladies Night’ has helped her overcome her "insecurities" after being constantly slammed by Twitter trolls.
The ‘Only Way is Essex’ star is often inundated with "a lot of abuse" on social media, but stripping off for the show – which saw several celebrities flash their flesh in a striptease in the name of charity – has made her more confident about herself.
She said: "I loved ‘Big Bother’, it was an amazing experience, and I loved doing the ‘Full Monty’ with the girls.
"I over-think things, I get quite a lot of abuse on Twitter and on Instagram, so doing that show definitely made me get over those insecurities."
The 25-year-old reality TV star confessed she has gone under the knife to make her lips look more "plump", and insisted having fillers doesn’t hurt "too bad".
When asked by Piers Morgan on ‘Good Morning Britain’ if her lips are "the ones God gave you", she replied: "No. I’m not going to sit here and try lying, but you know what, I like a plump mouth."
Piers’ co-host Susanna Reid asked the ‘TOWIE’ star whether the process is painful.
She replied: "It’s OK. You have a bit of numbing cream so it’s not too bad."
Megan – who is now a country music star – has also shot to the defence of Essex girls’ "tacky reputation", insisting there is "a lot of talent" in the county.
She added: "For some reason Essex girls have a really bad reputation of wearing white stilettos and being quite tacky but I don’t think I’m tacky.
"There’s a lot of talent from Essex, the stereotype is going to be changed.
"We’re powerful women and we like to say what we think, it can get you in trouble sometimes, I’ve been in trouble a few times, but we stand for what we believe in."
