Megan Barton Hanson: Samira Mighty ‘deserves better’

Megan Barton Hanson believes Samira Mighty "deserves better" than Frankie Foster.
The former ‘Love Island’ contestant – who reached the ITV2 show’s final with boyfriend Wes Nelson, 20, – has publicly issued her support for her fellow Islander after she and Frankie, 22, split amid speculation he has cheated on her.
Speaking to ‘Heart London Breakfast’, the 24-year-old beauty said: "I think for Samira it’s always been real.
"When I came out and I heard that Frankie may have cheated I was like questioning it then, and then, I was like, ‘No, she deserves better, if he’s going to behave like that.’ "
Samira and Frankie split up earlier this week, and she is now "focusing on herself" following allegations that Frankie played away.
A rep for Samira – who quit the reality show to be with Frankie after he was voted off the programme – said: "Samira will be taking some time out from her relationship with Frankie to focus on herself and future work opportunities.
"They have spoken in depth about the recent events and Samira feels a break for now is the best thing for both of them so they can see what the future holds."
Frankie’s rep added: "Frankie wholeheartedly knows that his actions were not acceptable and has apologised to Samira."
As well as having strong views on Samira and Frankie’s relationship, Megan and Wes did not hold back when asked if they would ever consider appearing in ‘Celebrity Big Brother’.
He said: "No we haven’t been offered it. I don’t think I’d do it either."
Megan added: "No. You couldn’t pay me to do that."
Tune into Heart London Breakfast with JK and Lucy (in for Jamie and Emma), weekdays from 6am – 9am.
