Mckenna Grace is set to star in ‘Annabelle 3’.
The 12-year-old actress – who is starring in ‘Captain Marvel’ and Netflix’s ‘The Haunting of Hill House’, which starts later this month – is tapped to play Ed and Lorraine Warren’s daughter, Judy, who becomes the main target of the possessed doll and draws on the experiences of her two babysitters, Deadline reports.
‘The Conjuring’ franchise’s Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson play Ed and Lorraine Warren in the popular horror series, but it’s not yet been revealed whether they’ll be starring alongside Mckenna in the horror spin-off.
Gary Dauberman will make his directorial debut for the demonic doll’s third instalment after previously being best-known for his scripts for ‘Annabelle’, ‘IT’ and 2018’s ‘The Nun’.
Speaking about the latest ‘Annabelle’ film during July’s Comic-Con’s ScareDiego event, the ‘Annabelle 3’ director said: "It really picks up with the Warrens bringing Annabelle to the place where it can really no longer wreak havoc, which is their artefact room. But, of course, it turns out she can also wreak havoc there."
James Wan – who directed ‘The Conjuring’ and ‘The Conjuring 2’ – quickly added: "It’s basically ‘Night At The Museum’ with Annabelle!"
The horror movie is yet to be given an official title, but it’s been confirmed that filming will start next month.
It is the sixth film in ‘The Conjuring’ franchise, which has already grossed more than $1.5 billion globally.
