McFly return to stage after three years

McFly returned to the stage for the first time in three years last night (12.09.16).
The ‘Shine a Light’ hitmakers – who are made up of Tom Fletcher, Harry Judd, Danny Jones and Dougie Poynter – played the first show of their ‘Anthology Tour’ at Manchester Academy, north west England, and joked they shouldn’t have bothered turning up because their set was full of errors.
Harry quipped: "I’ve made at least five mistakes. The first mistake was turning up."
Dougie also admitted he was "sweaty and unprepared" and didn’t have a "f***ing clue" what he was doing on stage.
McFly played their ‘Room on the 3rd Floor’ album in full, during which they opened with hit song ‘5 Colours In Her Hair’ before moving onto fan favourite ‘Obviously’.
Their encore included ‘Love Is Easy’ and ‘Love is on the Radio’ before they concluded their set with ‘No Worries’, ‘Silence Is a Scary Sound’ and ‘The Heart Never Lies’.
The group will play two further dates in Manchester before heading to Glasgow’s O2 Academy, Birmingham’s O2 Academy and London’s O2 Forum in Kentish Town for three concerts at each venue.
The boy band were forced postpone their ‘Anthology Tour’ until September as a result of Harry suffering from a herniated disc in his neck.
The drummer enlisted the help of a personal trainer during his recovery and was forced to "start from scratch".
He recently wrote on Instagram: "Since I slipped a disc in my neck 3 months ago unsurprisingly I’ve hardly been able to train. The nerve damage caused from the disc herniation is slowly getting better. I’m working with @rogerframpton to build up some strength ready for Tour It’s like started from scratch but I’m loving the challenge (sic)"
Harry announced in May that McFly would have to postpone their tour following his injury.
He shared: "I’m absolutely gutted to say that we’ve had to postpone the tour as I’ve herniated a disc in my neck.
"I’ve honestly tried everything to make it work but I’d never want to do a tour where I wouldn’t be able to give you guys the 110% performance you deserve every night.
"I’m gunna do all the rehab possible to get myself ready to do the most epic shows we’ve ever put on! Love Harry, Barry, The Triple D, The not quite as good half of Pudd or whatever it is you wanna call me x #mcfly #itsnotalwayseasy (sic)"
The quartet had been performing with Busted pair James Bourne and Matt Willis as McBusted since 2013, but the band are now on hiatus.
