Maureen Lipman lost Coronation Street scripts in taxi

Maureen Lipman lost her ‘Coronation Street’ scripts in a taxi.
The 73-year-old actress – who has played Evelyn Plummer since 2018 – was on her way to the set with co-star Rula Lenska (Claudia Colby) when she accidentally left her backpack in a cab which took them to work, and when it was found a week later her lines were gone, along with her sunglasses and iPad.
Speaking to The Oldie magazine about her and Rula’s initial hunt for the bag, she said: "I began to think laterally.
"We’d paid for our smoked-haddock fishcakes and the large vodka at the baffling Sainsbury’s self-service till.
"Maybe I’d removed the pack from my back to help me relax while addressing a speaking barcode?"
The bag was later found in a park in Stockport – roughly half an hour drive away from the ‘Corrie’ studios in Salford – by a woman called Karen, who tracked down the soap star by using information on some prescription pills still inside.
Maureen added: "It smelled of dog pee, but she hadn’t washed it because of possible DNA traces. Full marks, Karen!"
The star previously admitted appearing on the cobbles was like "coming home" because her late husband, Jack Rosenthal, wrote several episodes of the soap.
She said: "It’s kind of like coming home. Because Jack, my late husband, wrote episode 13.
"He told me that [‘Corrie’ creator] Tony Warren rang him up after the first episode and said, ‘What do you think?’ And he said, ‘Never mind you, what does your mother think?’
"I had just changed agents when I got this job and she said, ‘What would you think of this?’ And I said, ‘I’d feel great, let’s go for it.’ "
