Matt Tebbutt turns to day drinking during Covid-19 lockdown

Matt Tebbutt has been day drinking through the Covid-19 crisis.
The 46-year-old TV chef has been treating himself to a bottle of wine in the early afternoon as the lockdown – which has forced pubs, restaurants and shops to close across the country – has stopped him from popping to the pub for his night-time tipple.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column, he revealed: "There is no socialising down the pub any more. Lockdown has changed my drinking ability and my timings have gone out the window.
"I look at my watch and it’s 4pm and I am thinking, ‘Great, I can start making dinner and open a bottle of wine!’ Things have all got a bit blurred."
However, he will have to reconsider his new routine after it was revealed he will front BBC One Daytime’s ‘Daily Kitchen Live’ amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The show – which will air from the ‘Saturday Kitchen Live’ set – will star Matt alongside Jack Monroe and will aim to help viewers by dishing up health and accessible meals each episode.
The series – which will air each weekday on BBC One this month for two weeks from Monday (13.04.20) – will respond to challenges such as cooking on a budget and making "a little go a long way".
Viewers will also be able to get in touch with questions, offer their own advice and challenge Matt and Jack to come up with ideas using what they have in their cupboards.
Matt said: "I am really excited to be hosting this new show for the BBC.
"It’s going to be a great way to share some fun each morning with the viewers, while also sharing our ideas for quick and simple recipes that will get the whole family cooking."
