Matt LeBlanc urged to get famous friends on Top Gear

‘Top Gear’s Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc have been ordered to nab their famous friends for the show.

The new presenting duo – who were announced as the programme’s replacement hosts earlier this year – have been told by bosses to trawl their contact books and persuade their Hollywood pals to take part on the revamped motoring show.

Speaking to The Daily Star newspaper, a source explained: "’Top Gear’ is famous around the world and we usually get good names. Chris and Matt should not have a problem getting the cream of the crop from their contact books."

But it seems the duo will certainly have their work cut out as previous host Jeremy Clarkson, who was sacked last year following a vicious spat during filming, managed to attract some big names including Tom Cruise and Will Smith.

However, it’s believed Matt’s former ‘Friends’ co-stars Jennifer Anniston and Matthew Perry are already in the pipeline, while Chris is on a mission to persuade his friends Harry Styles and Adele to slip into their overalls.

Meanwhile, it was initially believed the new revamped series, which will hit screens in May, will only run for six episodes after producers hit a number of obstacles.

But it’s now thought the show is on track for eight episodes after the cast managed to catch up with the filming schedule.
