Mary Berry won’t return to Great American Baking Show

Mary Berry has decided not to return to the ‘Great American Baking Show’.
US network ABC has confirmed the legendary baker’s festive special – the American version of the ‘Great British Bake Off’ – has not been recommissioned this year.
Network boss Channing Dungey was asked at an event in Los Angeles over the weekend if Mary was returning to the progrramme and she said: "Not at the moment but we would be happy to do something in the future."
However, although both parties have agreed to leave the show this year, ABC are hoping to work with the 82-year-old star again in the near future.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Mary left the network on good terms but she has BBC commitments and wants to concentrate on them instead."
The revelation comes just days after it was announced Mary had signed up to front the forthcoming eight-part series ‘Britain’s Best Cook’ on the BBC.
She said: "I am never more at home than when I have my judging hat on. This series is going to encourage proper home cooking which I have always championed and I cannot wait to start. Claudia, for me, is the icing on the cake."
Bosses are aiming to secure another judge to join Mary, while Claudia Winkleman has jumped on board to host the show, and the pair can’t wait to get stuck in to filming
The show will "test the real-life expertise of truly great home cooks" as amateur chefs are pitted against each other while they show the nation the different dishes they make their loved ones in the kitchen every single day.
Meanwhile, Mary shocked the nation last year when she announced she was stepping down as a judge on the ‘Great British Bake Off’ after Channel 4 snatched the rights to the show from the BBC in a three-year mega-money deal.
