Mary Berry to attend Glastonbury Festival

Mary Berry is to attend this year’s Glastonbury Festival.
The ‘Great British Bake Off’ star may be 81 years old but she’s still keen to slip into a pair of wellies and head to the three-day music extravaganza, held near Pilton, Somerset, in late June with her energetic co-star Mel Giedroyc.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Mel, 47, said: "I am going to try and take Mary to Glastonbury this year.
"I asked her last year, ‘Bez, have you been to Glastonbury?’ She replied, ‘No dear, of course I haven’t’, so I said, ‘Right, shall we go next year?’ and she is up for it."
And, although fans are used to seeing the talented baker create delicious masterpieces, her co-stars recently admitted the show judge is completely different behind closed doors and isn’t afraid to knock back the booze off-camera.
Sue Perkins – who presents ‘GBBO’ alongside Mel – said last year: "She is magnificent. She can knock it back. The rest of us fell by the wayside but she was still dry-eyed, bushy tailed."
However, Mary is adamant she’s always been able to handle her drink and is even more careful now she has TV gigs.
When asked if she ever has a few too many drinks, she said recently: "Oh no, I am very careful, as I am nearly always doing something interesting the next day. In my youth, I might have done but, good gracious, not now."
