Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood don’t make the cakes they show to contestants on ‘The Great British Bake Off’.
The presenting duo reportedly sit in hair and make-up, getting ready for the show, while expert bakers are brought in to prepare the delicious-looking treats.
An insider explained: "Mary and Paul have never made a single cake in the tent."
The pair have become TV favourites on the back of their appearances on the ‘Bake Off’, but have never admitted that someone else is responsible for the hard graft on the programme.
A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: "Paul in particular often talks about what ‘we’ have done, so it will come as a shock to fans."
The claims have subsequently been confirmed by Love Productions, who are responsible for the show.
In a statement, the production company explained: "No, Paul and Mary don’t make the cakes. They never have.
"They are baked on the day and Paul and Mary could never do that."
This year’s ‘Bake Off’ series reaches its finale on Wednesday (26.10.16), with an audience of around 15 million people expected to tune in to watch the BBC programme.
