Marlon Wayans and Regina Hall have been signed up by Netflix to star in remake of ‘Naked’.
The American actor has confirmed that he is to star in the remake of the 2000 Swedish romantic comedy and he has also written the script alongside Cory Koller and Rick Alvarez.
Speaking about his upcoming role in a statement, Wayans said: "The response I’ve gotten from fans worldwide to my films on Netflix has been overwhelming, and I’m thrilled to be working with them on an original film. Also, I’m excited to be working with Regina again."
Wayans will also be reunited with director Michael Tiddes for the first time since they worked together on ‘A Haunted House’.
Tiddes most recently directed erotic thriller ‘Fifty Shades of Black’.
Netflix plans to start production next month (October) in Charleston, SC, and will premiere the film around the world on its streaming site in 2017.
The story is based on an immature man called Rob Anderson, played by Wayans, who wakes up on his wedding day naked in an elevator and cannot stop reliving the hour before the ceremony over and over again.
The film is being produced by Wayans, Alvarez, ‘White Chicks and Little Man’ star Todd Garner, and Ryan Lewis.
Sean Robins, Michael Flynn and Paul Hanson serve as executive producers.
