Mark Wahlberg reveals Patriots Day doubts

Mark Wahlberg questioned the timing of the release of ‘Patriots Day’.
The 45-year-old actor stars in the new drama about the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013, but has admitted that following more-recent terrorist attacks in Paris and Florida, he questioned whether it was appropriate to release the movie in cinemas.
He told Deadline: "For awhile, we kind of debated it back and forth that it was too soon.
"But then we realised that with all the stuff that’s going on in the world, if you look at Orlando, if you look at Paris, if you look everywhere all over the world, it’s really not soon enough because this is a message about love and hope and people coming together."
‘Patriots Day’ is set for worldwide release in January and Mark recently admitted he still finds it "extremely difficult" to talk about the marathon bombings.
The Boston native stars as Sergeant Tommy Saunders in the soon-to-be-released drama about the bombing – which resulted in six deaths and left approximately 280 people with non-fatal injuries.
Mark felt a sense of "pride" being involved in the project, but he also admitted that it made the event "more and more difficult" to deal with.
He said: "It’s such a small community, so everyone knew someone who was affected.
"I also felt a sense of pride being there. It was extremely difficult making [the] movie … it’s becoming more and more difficult to talk about it."
