Mario Falcone: ‘I had to dumb myself down for TOWIE’

Mario Falcone has claimed he was banned from using polysyllabic words on ‘The Only Way is Essex’.
The reality TV star – who left the show last year following four years on screen – is glad he doesn’t have to dumb down his vocabulary anymore to suit the programme’s bosses.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, he said: "I had to dwindle it [vocabulary] down a bit when I did ‘TOWIE’. Once I said the word ‘discombobulated’ and the whole crew said: ‘Mario you can’t say that’, and I was like, ‘Why?’
"They said, ‘The people who watch ‘TOWIE’ won’t know what you’re talking about’. I confused Tommy Mallet!"
But, although he was unimpressed with the limitations the show brought, the 28-year-old hunk is adamant he doesn’t regret his time on the ITVBe programme because it taught him things that he never would have learnt in "real life."
The former bespoke tailor said: "I’ve got a lovely house, enough money and investments, my business and if I want to do my own suits and tailoring I can do that. So no, I don’t regret it. I learnt more in the four years on ‘TOWIE’ than I would have done four years in real life."
