The lawyer of Mariah Carey’s ex-manager has accused the singer of being "addicted to alcohol, prescription pills, and marijuana".
Stella Bulochnikov – who has hired lawyers Pierce O’Donnell and Bert Fields ahead of a possible lawsuit against the singer for breach of contract and other issues – has claimed in documents filed in New York that Mariah is a "train wreck" who still owes her former manager millions of dollars.
O’Donnell told The Blast: "Filing in New York was a shot across the bow to Mariah."
The lawyer – who has worked with a series of A-list stars throughout his legal career – has also claimed that Stella was an equal partner in a production firm that still has more than a dozen projects, worth over $100 million, in the pipeline.
He has warned the chart-topping star that unless she reaches a settlement, Stella will pursue justice through the courts.
O’Donnell has also blasted Mariah’s recent confession that she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2001, describing it as a "big lie".
The lawyer conceded that the diagnosis is true, but he claimed the reason "she is in the position she is in now is she refused to take her medication".
The legal expert continued: "She is addicted to alcohol, prescription pills, and marijuana."
In fact, O’Donnell claimed that Mariah’s aborted performance in New York’s Times Square on New Year’s Eve in 2016 was the result of her being "stoned out of her mind".
The ‘We Belong Together’ hitmaker stormed off stage in front of a live TV audience of millions, and Stella’s legal representative has now insisted she was barely able to get up on stage in the first place.
He said: "Stella pled with Mariah to get sober and she refused. Stella then became her constant guardian and protector."
A rep for Mariah has rubbished the potential lawsuit against the singer.
The rep warned: "If this frivolous and baseless claim is filed, we will defend against it vigorously and successfully."
