Man of Steel set for a sequel

The ‘Man of Steel’ sequel has been given the green light.
Despite the recent critical mauling that ‘Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice’ received on its release in March, Warner Bros
are said to have put the project – which will see Henry Cavill portray Superman again – into active development, sources told The Wrap.
The news will please fans of the DC character, as no mention was made of a ‘Superman’ standalone when Warner’s CEO announced nine films featuring DC Comics characters back in 2014.
At the time, Kevin Tsujihara announced nine films featuring members of the Justice League including ‘The Flash’, ‘Aquaman’, and ‘Wonder Woman’.
Because of the aforementioned movies, it may be some time before the sequel is seen on screen as ‘Wonder Woman’ is due for release on 2 June 2017 and then ‘Justice League’ is set to drop on 17 November 2017.
Following those movies, ‘Aquaman’ is currently set for a 27 July 2018 release and a source has revealed that a standalone ‘Batman’ will likely come before the Superman sequel.
Those waiting for their Superman fix will have to make do with the ‘Justice League’ film for now, which will see both the 33-year-old Cavill back as Superman and Ben Affleck, 43, as Batman.
However, intriguingly Warner Bros has two untitled DC films set for release on 5 October 2018 and 1 November 2019, and haven’t confirmed what they will be.
