Malique Thompson-Dwyer has quit ‘Hollyoaks’.
The 21-year-old actor will leave his role as Prince McQueen this summer after three years on the Channel 4 soap, and he will be pursuing other acting roles as well as his music interests.
He said: "I will miss everyone, every single person.
"I have been doing a lot of music and I’m trying to peruse that and get my music out there, however acting is my main passion which I won’t be giving up."
But Prince could return to the village one day, as the ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ star confirmed his alter-ego will not die.
He said: "The door is open. My character is still alive so you never know."
Prince has been "really struggling" since his wife Lily McQueen (Lauren McQueen) died suddenly in April after contracting sepsis.
Malique said: "Since Lily has been gone, Prince tried to preoccupy himself and take his mind off her, but he’s been really struggling.
"I think Goldie will struggle with the prospect of Prince leaving, most likely feeling left behind once again as she was by her other son, Hunter. However, I think Prince can persuade her that it’s the right thing for him to do."
And Malique admits he will "never forget" shooting the dramatic 2018 ‘Hollyoaks’ storm scenes on the soap.
He said: "It’s so hard to choose my favourite storyline, especially playing Prince as he has had ups and downs, explosions, stunts and car crashes.
"But one thing I’ll never forget is filming the storm in Fleetwood in Blackpool. It was incredible."
