Maddie Hinch is in talks for ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’.
The Olympic hockey player – who is known as Mad Dog to her teammates – is said to be in the running to appear in the Australian jungle-based series after winning gold as part of Team GB at the Rio 2016 Games over the summer.
A source said: "She fits the bill as she’s really good fun, isn’t afraid to get stuck in during difficult situations and gets on with people well.
"She might not be the most famous name in the jungle this year but she’s an athlete at the top of her game as proved by the fact she has a gold medal to show for her efforts this summer."
The 27-year-old goalkeeper is said to be keen to appear in the programme but would need to work around her training for Dutch side SCHC, who are based in Utrecht.
The source explained: "She’s told some of her GB teammates she’s bang up for taking part and would relish the challenge.
"She just needs to make her schedule work now."
‘I’m A Celeb’ bosses are also said to be keen on adding Olympian Louis Smith to the show’s line-up ready for the next series later this year.
The show source added to The Sun newspaper: "’I’m A Celeb’ bosses love getting a sportsperson in the jungle, especially an Olympian. Louis Smith was one name they looked at, but they’re very keen on Maddie."
Should Maddie sign up for the show then she could be in familiar company as Olympic double gold medal boxer Nicola Adams has also been linked with the upcoming series, as has Robbie Williams’ wife Ayda Field, radio presenter Lisa Snowdon and ‘Gogglebox’ star Scarlett Moffatt.
