M.I.A describes fifth album her ‘last LP’

M.I.A has called her fifth studio album ‘Matahdatah’ her "last LP".
The 40-year-old rapper-and-singer has just finished her new collection of tracks and took to Twitter to share the news with the cryptic wording suggesting it’s her final record.
M.I.A also admitted to fans she doesn’t know whether or not it will ever be released in the US by her label Interscope because she doesn’t have a visa to enter America any more.
M.I.A – whose real name is Mathangi ‘Maya’ Arulpragasam – tweeted: "I am handing my last LP in to my American label this week. It’ll be up to them if its released. I don’t have visa 4 states to promote or spk (sic)"
The ‘Paper Planes’ hitmaker also won’t be able to go on tour without the visa and suggested that in order to make new music she will write for other artists and is keen to collaborate with DJ Khaled or Selena Gomez.
She posted on Twitter: "Can’t tour the US without a visa – might have to start writing songs 4 Dj Khaled and Selene Gomez to get heard (sic)"
The brunette beauty previously released two singles from the forthcoming album, ‘Borders’ and ‘Rewear It’.
The eagerly-anticipated record will be a follow-up to 2013’s ‘Matangi’.
M.I.A teamed up with high street fashion brand H&M to release her latest single ‘Rewear It’ for World Recycle Week, which encourages customers to recycle their unwanted clothes.
Despite previously being based in New York City for a couple of years, the London-born songwriter – whose parents are Sri Lankan – has US visa problems because of her political lyrics and her dad’s alleged links to the Tamil Tigers militant group.
M.I.A was previously engaged to American Benjamin Bronfman – the son of Warner Music CEO Edgar Bronfman Jr – and their seven-year-old son Ikhyd was born in Los Angeles.
