Lysette Anthony turns to real life experiences for Hollyoaks crying scenes

Lysette Anthony thinks about bad life experiences to help her get emotional during ‘Hollyoaks’ scenes.
The 55-year-old actress admits she feels "quite cheerful" when she returns home at the end of a day of filming because she is "all cried out" after playing her character Marnie Nightingale, and joked she doesn’t need therapy.
When asked if she thinks of bad life experiences to help make her cry, she exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "Yeah, I’ve got quite a long list. I’m quite cheerful by the end of day when I get home, because I’m all cried out.
"I absolutely, without a doubt, have the best job in the world. I go to work, I get to cry for a living. Who needs therapy?"
The ‘Look Who’s Talking Now’ actress – who last year accused movie mogul Harvey Weinstein of rape – turned to her co-stars Kieron Richardson (Ste Hay) and Jess Fox (Nancy Osborne) for help to bring on the tears when she first joined the soap nearly three years ago.
Speaking at the Inside Soap Awards at London’s 100 Wardour Street on Monday night (22.10.18), she added: "I asked Kieron and Jess Fox when I first arrived. I just said, ‘Help,’ and he just said, ‘Drink a lot of water.’
"I don’t do Tear Stick or any of that stuff so it really takes it out of you. When Nathan [Nightingale] died I barely got out of bed.
"It really does emotionally impact, but you just have to hydrate. And as long as it comes from a real place, that’s something important."
