Lydia Bright caught frostbite earlier this month.
The ‘Only Way is Essex’ star has spent the past four weeks in Austria training for the forthcoming series of ‘The Jump’ and, although she’s thoroughly enjoying the experience, she terrified bosses when she started to show the "early signs" of the medical condition.
Speaking to new! magazine, she said: "It’s really tough on the muscles and some days the temperature is so cold. One day it was -25 degrees. I felt like my fingers and toes were going to fall off and at one point my cheek was showing the early signs of frostbite."
The brunette beauty leapt at the chance to take part in the winter sports show when bosses approached her last year but her best friend Lucy Mecklenburgh tired to persuade her not to do it after the amount of injuries sustained in last year’s series.
She explained to the publication: "She did try to put me off it! But I’m glad I made the decision to do it because it’s been incredibly fun and the exercise has been amazing. What better way to lose weight in the new year?"
And the brunette beauty wasn’t the only person to give Lydia some advice before she started training as her ex-boyfriend James ‘Arg’ Argent – who competed in the show last year – warned her that the skeleton, in which a person rides a small sled, was hard.
She said of her former flame, who she has dated on and off for years: "He warned me about the skeleton and said it was by far the hardest thing he’s ever done. He was right!"
