Lucy Pinder is enjoying the "pressure" that comes with doing theatre work.
The 34-year-old model-turned-actress is to appear in upcoming play ‘Worth a Flutter’ alongside former ‘Hollyoaks’ star Paul Danan, and she is excited about the "buzz" of treading the boards because there are no second chances in front of a live audience, so it stops her being "lazy" about her performance.
She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "It’s great because I haven’t done theatre since school. It’s so different from doing TV or film.
"I’m enjoying the process and feel a lot more immersed in the process, and more passionate about it.
"But there is that pressure that there’s no, ‘Oh, I’m sorry, I’ve screwed that up, can I do that again?’
"But I’m enjoying the buzz of that, like if I don’t get it I’m screwed.
"It’s a nice pressure to have.
"You can be so lazy with film and TV, like ‘Oh it’s fine if we mess this up.’ But if we mess this up it’s not fine."
But Lucy’s co-star Paul – who portrayed Sol Patrick in ‘Hollyoaks’ for four years – admitted he has some nerves about theatre work.
He added: "With films and TV you can go again, you can do a take two but with this you can’t so it’s a little bit daunting.
"I’m a bit apprehensive about it all, but once it’s memorised I can really play with it.
"If I wasn’t nervous there would be something wrong."
The hard-hitting play – written by Michael Head – features broken marriages, loss, domestic violence and a dysfunctional member as it follows two guys as they compete for Helen’s affections.
‘Worth a Flutter’ takes place on Tuesdays to Saturdays from May 1-19 at London’s The Hope Theatre.
