Lucy Pargeter’s sneaky IVF injection break

‘Emmerdale’s Lucy Pargeter used to sneak off in her lunch break and give herself secret injections in a bid to aid her chances of falling pregnant.
The 40-year-old actress – who is known for playing pub landlord Chas Dingle in the long-running soap – didn’t want her bosses to know she was undergoing IVF because she thought it would affect the storylines she was given over the next year or so, so she used to slip off without anyone knowing around lunch to inject the stimulant into her.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’ on Thursday (02.03.17), the brunette beauty said: "If you go to your employer and say I’m having IVF, then of course they think well, ‘If it works, in nine months time, you’re going to be off.’
"So you don’t really want to give somebody the indication that you might be off in nine months because it affects storylines and everything."
Lucy and her fiancé Rudi Coleano managed to conceive last year after a second round of IVF and are expected to welcome twin daughters into the world in mid-April.
The couple are already parents to 11-year-old Lola and they both decided that it would have a good if she was heavily involved in the pregnancy.
She said: "I wanted to be totally open with her. She’s come to scans, she knew about the whole process. We thought it was so important for her to know everything."
