Lucy-Jo Hudson has quit ‘Hollyoaks’.
The actress joined the soap 12 months ago as Donna-Marie Quinn but has confirmed she is leaving ‘Hollyoaks’ after her "skanky" character was sent to prison.
She wrote on Instagram: "Goodbye @hollyoaksofficial it has been a real pleasure playing skanky Donna-Marie for the past 12 months.
"Not gonna miss the teeth that’s for sure …. but Thank you for making me feel welcome…. wonderful cast and crew!!!
"Good luck with the @thebritishsoapawards #donnamarie #goodbye #shesbangedup #whereshebelongs #lastdayoffilming"
Her co-star Gregory Finnegan took to Instagram to pay tribute to Lucy for her portrayal of prostitute Donna-Marie.
He wrote: ""On a snowy day in January we said au revoir to Donna-Marie…
"Loved working with the wonderful @lucyjo_hudson – here’s hoping she gets out of Prison soon! Gx"
Lucy-Jo replied: "Ahhhh mate….. gonna miss working with you! Thanks for all the entertainment now go win best actor please! #mywinner x"
Meanwhile, Lucy-Jo previously admitted while she loved her role on the Channel 4 soap, she found it her most "challenging" to date.
She explained: "I’ve loved joining ‘Hollyoaks’, the cast and crew are amazing, and I’ve absolutely loved playing such a reckless woman. I’ve never challenged myself like this before!
"I love how rough she looks too, with the greasy hair, pale face, and yellow teeth (that are fake by the way) are just amazing, and get me right into character."
