Lucy Fallon has tried tea – but she hated it.
The ‘Coronation Street’ actress shocked the Twittersphere earlier this month by insisting she had never been tempted by a cup of the aromatic beverage, and never wanted to, but her co-star Julia Goulding has revealed Lucy tried some Yorkshire Tea Biscuit Brew – which includes black tea and is supposed to taste like tea and biscuits – but she wasn’t a big fan.
Julia – who plays Roy’s Rolls worker Shona Ramsey in the ITV soap – exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "Honestly, there is no saving some people. I can’t function without about three teas in the morning. And neither can Jack, which is probably why we’re really good friends.
"I don’t get it. Me and Lucy did actually try some biscuit Yorkshire Tea the other day.
"We shared a cup … I say shared a cup, she tasted it once and went, ‘No no.’ But that wasn’t real tea, that was tea that tasted like biscuits."
‘Corrie’ star Victoria Ekanoye (Angie Appleton) was as shocked as the rest of the nation to be told about Lucy’s (Bethany Platt) tea-less life, and she is planning to try to tempt her into having a traditional builder’s tea, which is a term for a strong brew.
Speaking at the Inside Soap Awards, she said: "Lucy said that? Are you sure? Oh my gosh, Lucy, we have to fix this. We’ve got to fix that. She needs a builder’s tea. We’ll sort it out."
Lucy made her surprise tea omission earlier this month, admitting she "intends" to never taste a brew in her life.
The 22-year-old star tweeted: "never had a cup of tea in my life and I intend to keep it that way x (sic)"
But this shock news left her ‘Corrie’ co-star Georgia Taylor (Toyah Battersby), feeling "a bit sad".
She wrote: "Not gonna lie, I feel a bit sad (sic)"
