Lucie Jones among six X Factor flops shortlisted for Eurovision Song Contest

Lucie Jones is "excited" to perform ‘I Will Never Give Up On You’ to battle it out to represent the UK on the ‘Eurovision Song Contest’.
The 25-year-old singer is among six former ‘X Factor’ flops, who have been shortlisted by the BBC for the annual competition, which sees countries in Europe go head-to-head.
Taking to Twitter to express her excitement at being chosen to perform on the 90-minute selection show, ‘Eurovision: You Decide’, on BBC Two on Friday (27.01.17), she wrote: "SO EXCITED! I’ll be singing live in your living room Friday 7:30pm in the final Eurovision – You Decide! YAY! Hope I have your support (sic)"
The brunette beauty is joined by Daryl Johnson, who she competed with on the ITV talent show in 2009 and Olivia Garcia and Nate Simpson, who made it to the Judges’ Houses stage of the competition last year, and Salena Mastroianni.
Also joining them is Holly Brewer, who was the wedding singer at ‘Our Girl’ star Michelle Keegan, 29, and 30-year-old former ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ hunk Mark Wright’s wedding in May 2015.
The blonde beauty has already been getting support from pop stars including former Blue singer Duncan James, who previously starred in a pantomime with Holly in 2015.
Taking to Twitter, the 38-year-old heartthrob wrote: "Here’s my princess Jasmin from panto 2 years ago repine’ for the uk in the #eurovision ! U go girl (sic)"
As for their song choices, Daryl will take on ‘Light Up The World’, Olivia is singing ‘Freedom Hearts’, Holly is to belt out ‘I Wish I Loved You More’, Salena will sing ‘I Don’t Wanna Fight’ and finally Nate will no doubt melt hearts with his performance of ‘What Are We Made Of’.
They will each sing before the judging panel, comprised of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judge Bruno Tonioli, pop beauty Sophie Ellis-Bextor and vocal mentor CeCe Sammy, live at London’s Hammersmith Apollo on Friday (27.01.17).
The winner, who will be chosen by the public, will be flown out to Kyiv in Ukraine to compete on the ‘Eurovision Song Contest’ on May 13.
Graham Norton is expected to return as the host of the show, which will broadcast live on BBC Two.
