Love Island’s Zara set sights on Adam

‘Love Island’ newcomer Zara McDermott will "lock in" on Adam Collard in a determined bid to couple up with him in the villa.
The 21-year-old government advisor has set her sights on winning the Geordie hunk from Rosie Williams after joining the ITV2 show last night (17.06.18) alongside Ellie Brown, and she is hoping Adam will be put off his current coupling by the "intense" raven-haired beauty.
Speaking on tonight’s (18.06.18) show, Zara says: "I feel like Rosie being too intense will put him off … I like Adam,
"I like Adam but Rosie is very territorial. She clearly likes him. I don’t think I’ll give up easily with this one, I think I’ve got this one in my sights and I’m definitely locking in on my target.
"He is so fit, why is he so fit? I know if I go for him and it does work out and we end up coupled up then he could just do the same to me that he’s done to every single girl. It’s a gamble but I think I am in here to take risks."
Zara will choose three of the lads to have dinner with tonight, Alex George for starter, Eyal Booker for main course and Adam for dessert – and Adam is keen to impress.
He says before the date: "I’m quite excited to get to know Zara a bit. I’m glad she picked me to go on a dinner date with her.
"Dessert is my course so I’m guessing she must have a bit of a sweet tooth and she’s saving the best until last."
What’s more, Adam hints that all is not Rosie with his current couple, admitting he doesn’t want to regret missing out on Zara if the opportunity arises.
He says: "I would be open to getting to know Zara … Zara is very attractive.
"If I didn’t give Zara a chance, I could miss out on potentially something that’s even better and I don’t think that’s really fair on me or Zara if I just completely shut the door in her face."
Also on tonight’s ep, Zara and Ellie discuss being disappointed at the girls’ reaction to their arrival.
Zara says: "There was a lot more of a cold reception than I thought it would be. I think it’s territorial."
As well as Rosie being concerned about Zara’s advances, Laura Anderson admits she feels "anxious" about Ellie potentially muscling in on her coupling with Wes Nelson.
She says: "I’m just a bit anxious about the whole situation because Ellie obviously looks a bit like me in terms of blonde hair, blue eyes, freckles and that’s obviously Wes’ type… I just don’t like feeling jealous, it feels embarrassing.
"I feel like I’m chasing him about. I feel like he was all over me at the start and now I feel like I have to ask for a hug. I’m not like this in real life. I’m actually annoyed in myself for feeling [like this].
"This is not what I want in a relationship."
While Eyal has enjoyed up and down romances in the villa, the streams of his group EverYoung have only gone in one direction since he joined the show.
EverYoung’s songs have surged 1,681 per cent on Spotify in the UK after fans learnt about the 22-year-old model’s singing career.
The band currently boasts a growing audience of over 1,200 monthly listeners on Spotify.
‘Love Island’ continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
